Just thought I'd post this up as it will be of interest to Audi Owners on this Forum.

FUCHS (Germany) is the Largest Independent Oil blender in the world and has many factory fill positions with German car makers.

Their "Factory Fill" position is as follows:

VW/AUDI 15,360,000 litres per annum
Daimler Benz 11,189,000 litres per annum
BMW 5,000,000 lires per annum

So, VW/AUDI trust them and it's more than likely that your car arrived on these shores with FUCHS oil in it!

How do they compare to the other oil manufacturers? In case of VW, I'm suprised that they would single source.

Also, I wouldn't expect it to be a matter of trust. I would imagine it to be matter of meeting the VAG/DM or BMW spec v cost ratio. In case of VW, due to their huge production volumes most suppliers are only after market share and to maximise their turnover.

Interesting figures though - quite an amazing amount of oil!!!

No OEM's are exclusive as far as I'm aware but I beleive that the "FUCHERS" have the lions share!

You're right on one thing though, A LOT OF OIL!

Besides, they are German.
