2 Questoins

1st

Over the last 3 weeks I have notice a ping noise from what appears behind the dash. Almost like a warning ping! It has happened when stopped in traffic and also travelling. It does not seem to happen at any particular temparature? It has only happened 3 times. Audi cannot tell me what it could be. Anyone here had this or can tell me.

2nd

How much noise does the aux heater make. I know it comes on below a certain start up temp? How long does it stay on? Will the temp I set Climate at effect wether it stays on or not?

I wild guess at the answer to question 1: Have you by any chance been driving for 2 hours? The car warns you when you've been driving for 2 hours as a safety feature to prevent tiredness.
No idea about question 2, sorry.

I have not been driving for 2 hrs.

The aux heater cannot be heard inside the car. Outside it sounds like a fan heater. It comes on automatically when the external temp is less than 5 degs C. Don't know if it cycles on and off or whether it turns off when the engine has heated up sufficiently.
