Hi Guys,
Well the A2 will be going on Thursday. Bought a VW Touareg today (2.5tdi Sport).
It will be really sad to see the little black cab go. Going to take some more photos of it before it goes.

That really looks the business. Nice colour by the way!
What size are the wheel / tyre combo Kaine?
Were the windows tinted as standard or was that a cost option?
Sorry for all the bloody questions.

That is a NICE looking motor. Of all the big SUV/4x4's, thats the best looking.
Well untill the Audi Q7 comes along anyway.....
Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.

Hi Scott,
Cheers Buddy. Wheels are 18's with 255/55 rubber and standard on the sport models. The tints were an option, but I think it makes it look a bit meaner.
Heres a piccie of the A2 this morning - aahhh

£71 fill up, and that wasn't from an empty tank!!!!
Got so used to the A2 over the last 3 years, it was quite a culture shock today. Haven't stood at a petrol pump for so long in my life!!
Read the specs last night - 100 litre tank - £81.9 fill up!!!!

Indeed it is more expensive - in fact so much so that I need to make a cost saving somewhere and am now thinking of getting rid of the Corolla which I inherited from my wife after part exchanging the A2 for the Touran and getting the one car that is cheaper to run that the A2...am going on a test drive this week...all will be revealed shortly!

Started with Direct Line when I first started to drive (2 years) changed to Highway (3 years - Direct Line wouldn't insure a modified car at that time) and now... We have used Direct Line for the last 6 years, have asked for quotes from others but the nearest was £120 GBP more expensive.. and that was the RAC..

Better move loyalties then to www.thesmartclub.co.uk and www.funkysmart.co.uk! Loads of info there for smart owners and I expect to see you at Billing Aquadrome for the annual Funkysmart event on the first weekend in July!! We've had smarts for four years - currently have a Passion Cabrio with the same spec as your Brabus, apart from the wheels and ours is red and silver. We've had a remap taking the power up to similar levels of the Brabus! BTW with 75ish bhp you won't be getting 50-60 mpg!!!! BTW I've heard good reports from smart owners about MSN insurance.

I'm a big fan of the original Smart car (ForTwo). I test drove one before the A2 and really liked it. Though I wasn't too sure if it was the kind of car I wanted to drive 500 miles a week in.
But it's interesting you've chosen the Smart.....you must like buying cars that the manufacturer doesn't make any, or very little, money on...also like the A2 ;) There were even threats that Mercedes were going to stop production of the Smart, though that is looking less likely now, thankfully. Must also admit to really not likely the new ForFour. A Mitsubishi Colt in drag isn't part of the same design ethos as the ForTwo IMHO. Out of interest, were you tempted by the Fiat Panda?

Stuart_D
10-03-2005, 12:39 PM
No I'm not a big fan of Fiats! and I agree that the ForFour is pretty nasty especially in non matching exterior trim!
I went for the fortwo brabus cab because I wanted a car that would fit in my garage without me having to clear out all the baby junk that is in there! Also, I have a 20 mile commute to work on which can only be described as the dullest roads in Britain and there is no alternative route so I wanted something to make the journey more interesting. In addition, I wanted a convertible that was fun to drive and a little special (I refuse to conform just yet!). It's an added benefit that I might get some moderately decent fuel economy out of it, although I have to admit that if I thrash it as much as I did on the test drive, then it's probably unlikely!
Have already joined thesmartclub forum, but they are a miserable bunch so don't imagine I'll be spending much time there!
