Help Please - Wheel / Tyre size.

My other half has hit some debris and is now stranded with a flat tyre - the AA is on the way, and it sounds like a recovery will be needed as there is no way the repair kit is going to work with what sounds like a major puncture.

can anyone give me the vital stats of the wheels/tyres fitted so I can arrange a quick solution ASAP - we have the 16" 5 spokes on our A2 - 185 tyres.

Are they 4 or 5 stud wheels, and what's the width ?
Also, what's the width and height of the tyres ?

cheers Mike - do you know the 'J' of the wheel perchance ? I believe the ones fitted with 175 tyres are 5.5, so I'm guessing maybe 6J ?

I think I'll keep an eye out for a spacesaver spare as well.

If you have trouble finding 185/50 R 16 tyres, then you can always go to 205/45 R 16 - they're far more common and cheaper because of it!

They do fit nicely - Aaron on this forum has them - they give a bit more rim rpotection as well.

Something to bear in mind though when you change the tyres next time - as long as the sizes match for each axel (ie front two are the same and/or back two are the same) you'll be ok and legal.

Just a quick warning - make sure the tyre place HAS the tyre and it is not one they THINK they can get for tomorrow!

all sorted now - dealing with a stressed out wife who's running around today trying to sort out stuff for a birthday party tomorrow, and visitors arriving tonite, tyre suppliers, AA man who couldn't find the locking key (due to Bose being where the spares kit usually is), daughter who had to be picked up from school at 12, important meeting at 1.30pm, Boss, possible babysitters for an hour - all via phone.

And I find out the wheel is damaged as well - it took some extra weight to balance it, but the tyre is on ok and it drives - just have to wait now and see what it's like at speed :(

As Vincent Vega said - if you'll excuse me now I'm going to go home and have a heart attack.. :O
