View Full Version : The biggest / bulkiest / weirdest thing in an A2?

This week I had a 1960's dressing table and a 4 drawer filing cabinet in the back of the A2 - at the same time mind.

Hey this is a neat trick - during a lapse of concentration I put the offside rear seat back in the nearside position. Sod me it was a real struggle to get it out again.

What have you had in the back of yours? - keep it clean!

The rabbit-has far superior wheel control with her floppy ears.

She can also see very well in the dark.

But she does leave a lot of fur behind...

In August this year I moved house, I managed to squeeze all of the following into the back of the my A2 with the rear bench folded down:

My PC + printer + monitor + all other peripherals
A TV/Video combo
A filing cabinet
Another Video + small TV
Most of my clothes!
A magazine rack
Magazines!
A nest of tables
A small chest of drawers
Several small plants
...I've sure there were a few other items piled up on top!

Needless to say, I drove very slowly (for about a mile) to the new house without any visibility to the side or back!

After a visit to Ikea yesterday and some ill thought out purchases of new cabinets for the lounge, we found ourselves with a very full with only space for one person. After a visit to the B&Q next door, we ratcheted, bungeed & tied it all securely hanging out of the back.
The moral of this is the A2 is great for bulky objects but not very good for 2 metre cabinets.

The wife drove home while I popped into Costco to get some dog food and await her return. Somehow it all went pear shaped and I ended up spending over £100 and I didn't even get the dog food. Is this just a bloke thing??

8 (eight) people.
Three seven-year old kids in the boot (boot cover open, and of course without false boot floor and space-saver), 4 adults (and not small ones!) and a 12-year old girl in the normal places.
Afterwards I started to count the kilo's.. and decided it was a close go. (a standard 1.4 Tdi can take 500 kilo's max, but of course, nobody has a standard)

On separate occasions:

1. Portable Xray machine and accessories

2. Mountain Bike - yes it does fit!

3. deceased pets (various sizes). smell of cat pee has now gone thankfully.

4. Shedload of Ikea purchases

5. 210 litre waterbutt

Who needs a pickup it has masses of room.

Maersk,

Made yourself very clear there - NOT :D:D
Are you refering too a post that was lost before the big crash, or to spudsey's comment?
It wasn't me, however I do regularly get two Mountain bikes in the A2, however I have to remove the back seats from the car and front wheels from the bikes (made sure I wrote that the right way round :D). The A2 aint no tardis for sure!!!
