Dear Audi,
Please, please do not make the Audi A1. It is quite horrible.
However, if I have a choice then I would prefer you to make the A1 in preference to the A7. Have you lost the plot, do you seriously expect Mrs Jones to abandon her £20k TDi Sharan and purchase your 2.5 TDi Quattro A7 at £30k? I think not.
Yours concerned at future styling.
Chris
p.s I don't believe they are anything more than studies but ewwww!

Arghhhhhh-the Audi A1 is a cross between a Polo and Arosa!.

In this weeks edition of Autocar, it is reported that Audi plan a new SUV to rival the BMW X5 and new Volvo XC90. This will be called the A7 and will replace the Allroad. This is a completely different car to the Galaxy/Sharan clone on the above link.
Almost a 1.4SE in Merlot Red, Biege interior, 16" 5 spoke alloys, DIS, Open Sky, Elec rear windows.

Yukkkk!
The A1 and A7 really do look very nasty indeed!
Vauxhall came to mind!

Don't knock Vauxhall, just got her indoors a new Corsa.
Actually saying that I had a test drive of the new Vectra. It is terrible. (Sorry to anyone that has one)
It's huge; slow (2.2i test drove) absolutely no style, what have they done????
I have owned in the past several Cavalier and Vectra models and although they will never set the world alight they did the job they were supposed to do, very well. I think the new model has lost the plot..
Just my opinion....

New rules remember - Royfox's experience suggests that this translates to them making barges!
Did you have any doubts Royfox - perhaps you thought for a second that you wouldn't get out of the barge before lunch?

I hope the A1 is not the intended replacement for the A2 - it's just another lupo/arosa variant by the look of it. Come on Audi, your better than that!

It makes you wonder how much VW is controlling AUDI when you see this. I always considered AUDI as the flagship VW Group car, however in the light of Bentley and Lamborghini developments, are we seeing AUDI's demise???

Roy - It was the Vauxhall Zafira that came to mind re the A7. Perhaps I should have qualified that. Owned a 2.5 Omega until recently and it was an excellent car - though very thirsty!
The RAC lent me a Zafira for 3 days when the A2 turbo blew - it must rank as the most unpleasant vehicle I have ever driven!
Kaine - the A2 may be sailing into the sunset but AUDI as a brand have never done better than they are now. I think you can relax on that score!

Top Gear survey out today shows Audi overall 9th, A3 9th.
Will look in mag later to find out exactly-think it's customer satisfaction.

Jon,
I meant the AUDI designs, not AUDI itself. :)

Hi,
The Audi SUV is also known as the Audi SteppenWolf.

It actually looks quite cool !!! Rumor has it that the new A3 will look a little bit like the steppenwolf. It will have more straight lines (like the A2 already has), will look more 'new edge'.
And problably the new A3 will have the same front as the steppenwolf.
Here's an photoshopped picture of how the A3 will look:

Offcourse, it still not as goodlooking as the A2 !

I've seen artists impressions of the new Golf-very Audi A3 (both old and upcoming A3). I do hope the VAG isn't going in for 'family' identity. What next, a SEAT INCA that looks like A8?.

Funny you mentioned this. Yesterday I was driving home and near Utrecht I saw a VW Phaeton. Looks very nice, very sophisticated, very A8 !! Somehow the overall looks of the car and the way it seemed to 'glide' over the road reminded me very much of the A8...
