Just to let you know, im getting:
A3 2.0T Quattro Sportback S-Line Special Edition
Ebony Black with Black Leather, Bose, Xenons and other little bits.

See ya later!

Hope you don't miss the distinctive A2 too much. in Harrogate it would be dead easy to lose an A3 or A4 in a car park. Nice car you're getting though I'm only ever so slightly jealous :-)

I jumped the gun. I went down for my second visit to Audi to put the deposit down and turns out that the finance manager had made a mistake and I would now be a few grand out of pocket. Its all up in the air and you guys may not have lost me yet!!!

Save money, you don't need quattro. Get DSG instead!

To the contrary, I found the DSG to be over-hyped when I tried it with the 2.0T Sportback recently - I'd rather risk change gear by putting my hand inside the box than drive with DSG again - its only party piece was quick upchanges, but the drive-line shunt and hesitation on down changes are a pain in the 'arris. I found the engine too powerful for the front wheel (on a full-berries overtake I nearly jetisoned into a ditch as it torque-steered away). Therefore, I'd choose the manual quattro too! :)

Sorry to see you might be leaving us Andrew. Hopefully you can get the finance bod to sort it out (10% discount on A3's should ease you some leeway if you haven't already secured this).

Having had a 2litre A3 TDi DSG S-line for a couple of weeks, I can highly recommend it.

The only downsides were the lack of rear doors, the lack of useable space compared to an A2 and the bland, common'ness of the car, again compared to the A2.

Whatever you get in the end, drive safe and keep stopping by here to say hello.

Cheers,

Mike
