personally I drove 2 FSI's when thinking of buying my current A2 (Tdi SE 75version) I was very disapointed when driving both, It always felt like the engine was holding back to me, not a good throttle response. I was convinced it was poorly and I mentioned it to the dealer who took it out and said that's how they are... if that's true, it's not the car for me...

don't 'spose this will help, but at least you've got a reply ... lol

I've owned a 1.6fsi for 13 months and really enjoy driving this , more so than the A3. The suspension is firm and the pick up can be delayed - but this is because i use the cheap fuel rather than the high grade unleaded!!:)

I drove on once, whilst mine was in the garage. Thought the same as the above comments, a bit sluggish to start but OK when you get going.
