They have been impeccable. Truely professional. Although I have a feeling there may be an alterior motive. My parents bought their A4 from them last year, and I made it known that I would be looking to buy soon. Certainly no other dealership considered me as a potential future customer when my parents were looking for a new car to buy.

Kaine, I'm glad you added your bit! I travelled from Burton on Trent to Shrewsbury to view a Merlot Red A2 'in the flesh', whilst I was deciding on the spec for my new car. I told the dealer I had only come to look as Shrewsbury was a long way from home. No problem says Barry the salesman, have a test drive so that you'll have a better idea when you come to purchase, wherever you decided to get it from. Well.... we got to talking and , unlike a couple of other dealers I had spoken to, Barry actually knew his stuff! I decided to order my new car from them. They assured me I would receive the new rubbery wiper and enlarged fuel tank, and were aware that the September offer on climate & metallic paint had been extended ( something another dealer vehemently denied!) They also offered me a years free insurance. I was kept up to date with the manufacture/delivery progress and the dealer went to a great deal of trouble (its never straightforward is it?) to swap my personal registration.
Barry turned up on his day off to hand over the car on Sunday morning. Then it went a bit pear shaped. Optional spare wheel specified but not delivered PLUS rear seats would not re-engage. A red faced Barry apologised profusely and raided the workshop for tools. After a fraught 20 mins we gave up trying to fix the seat. The salesman offered a courtesy car, but I wanted mine (what a kid I am!). 'OK so when you specified alcantara didnt you check them out on a secondhand vehicle?' asked Barry. 'Yes' I replied. Three minutes later the secondhand vehicle was located and the broken seat replaced temporarily from the seconhand car. Barry is currently arranging for someone to come out to us after Christmas to replace the seat and the spare wheel. Absolutely excellent! 9/10 for Vincents Audi of Shrewsbury so far, as I'm not sure that the PDI should have picked up the 2 problems. I'll keep you posted.
ps 300 miles on and the car, so far, is a dream. Was there a thread for running in tips some while back.

Rob,
Yes, a 1.4TDI. I took a test drive on a dull overcast day. I was finding it difficult to choose between Merlot Red with beige leather and Amulet or Silver with alcantara. I had read on the forum of some problems keeping standard trim clean. Audi seem to be doing a good job of keeping Merlot Red a secret (not on their website car configuration, not in the A2 brochure) I had seen a picture of one in autotrader described as metallic red and your own pictures on the owners club. In the end I plumped for silver but it was a close run thing. I hope to post some pictures soon.

Hi
I would like to recommend Hitchin Audi, they definitely were very helpful and both Donald Smith (salesman) and Wesley Snoad (manager), deserve a pat on the back. They ensured that my first Audi experience was excellent, a big difference from the bad VW attitude I've been used to (ex. TDi Golf driver). Let's hope it continues.

I got my A2 from Vencents Audi at Swindon great service very willing to help. They had an A2 there just what we were looking for but had the rear bench seat, the sales man asked "would this seat stop you buying this car" to which we said YES. They tried to change the seats to singles, but no luck (not enough fixings in the floor) so they searched for another for us, they found one and Vindis Audi and had it transported over to Swindon they even through in a load net for the trouble they caused (basicly the travelling to/from Bristol/Swindon) done the deal and can't complain...
A week later did a check oil, water, air etc.. The oil level was off the scale, minimal screen wash and one tyre was 10psi under pressure (I did complain but no replay)
I used Dovercourt Audi in Bristol for all the CD changer parts, sales staff useless, parts department great even if they ordered the wrong part (new part 2 day delevery)
I don't know about servercing its telling me its 12000 miles away.

Franklin Audi in Leeds have dealt with me in an OK fashion. Slight problem when buying the car as regards the money, failed to return calls etc, but they eventually delivered on the required date as promised.
Car has been in to have the central locking reprogrammed to drivers door first unlocking and the only courtesy car the had was an S3!! Needless to say I enjoyed myself. Car was also washed while they had it.

I also used Vincents in Swindon and they were crap. The Sales staff were half asleep and I had make your my own coffee. (not impressed). The sales experience was rubbish, They were lucky they had a dolphin grey TDi in stock, otherwise I'd have been elsewhere.
Then when it came to collecting the car, it was in an awful state, so much so when I got it home I had to wash it!, (pi$$sed right of at that).
On the other hand, the Tetbury dealer was excellent, they just didn't have any cars I likes, I even had a follow up call from the Tetbury director asking if I was pleased with the "Audi experience", which I was, I just didn't buy a car from them!.
So I'll be using the Bristol Dovercourt Audi for servicing in 23,600 miles (roughly!) cause there the nearest to me , unless someone tells me otherwise.
Do you think any of the dealers read these comments?????, maybe we should point out to each dealer that this forum exists and we DO actually talk about the service they provide and word does spread and there business does suffer/benefit from it.
Enjoy.
Craig.

Craig,
I don't know exactly where you live but the Audi centre (Millhouse??) in BATH are very knowlegable and happy to help.
As my A2 is not ready for a service I am still debating where to go Dovercourt Bristol or Millhouse Bath. Both the same distance from me.

My dealer read the forum at the time I was having major problems-not sure if they still do. Hope they do so they can see the bad press I'm giving them (all true of course-no lies!).
But then thats the power of speach!.

8/10, good service, good salesmen. Only too bad that the one that sold me the car is leaving. I could get along very well with him.
They also invited me for a Audi Quattro testdrive experience, so I got to drive in a S6 Avant :)

Good service, they towed me and fixed the car when the turbo blew. They also fixed some minor things and they repaired the turbo. I got a A2 loan car. Also 8/10

I don't think much of Whetstone Audi in London.
My wife and I were in the market for a new car (mainly to be driven by her) about a month ago. We already have an Audi and have had a few in the past so we wanted to arrange an A2 test drive. We had checked them out in the dealership before, when my car was being serviced and already had an idea of the spec we were after (1.6FSI). Called the dealers on two separate occasions, both times I was unable to speak to a salesman and the receptionist took a message - that I was interested in an A2 and wished to arrange a test drive. One month later, I'm still waiting for a return call....
Popped into a VW dealership close to where I work and after a 1hr test drive of a 1.6 New Beetle the following weekend, placed an order for a New Beetle Cabriolet.
If this is how Audi dealers handle potential sales enquiries the A2 will continue to be a very rare machine!
0/10 for customer satisfaction... And a lost Audi sale.

If it was the same receptionist I dealt with I'm not surprised. Having had less than fruitful dealings with her by phone and by mail, she then proceeded to keep me waiting for 10 minutes when I arrived to collect my car whilst she finished her (personal) 'phone call.:(
No other problems with them though... yet...[}:)]

They are available in the UK from May this year, and we should get ours in late-May early June. Which happily enough is perfect timing as my company car is up for renewal in mid-May!
It's a shame that when you're looking to spend 18K on a car very few dealers even treat you like a customer. I had to try 3 VW dealers before I found someone who was interested in selling me a car. Must be too easy for them...

They heard it from me by phone. They may have been tipped off from audi uk that I was proposing to serve a summons on the managing director to take him to the small claims court on the grounds that I was misled in believing that the puncture repair goo worked.Having said that, the bloke was spot on and offered the full refund and the wheel without me first asking.

Gatwick Audi: 8/10 (They are 5 minutes from my office and if you've read my post on life with my car so far http://www.a2forum.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1365 you will know it has been in plenty). It is usually over lunch and they fixed everything, every time with no hassle. Only the bulb replacement that had free labour on two occasions and then mysteriously 30 minutes worth the 3rd time annoyed... But sales staff was indifferent when I approached them in the beginning (took me and my then Clio on face value and not seriously I think) and only offered 5% discount. I did go on a test drive on my ownsome though which was good and could pick any car they had availible as courtesy car last time (thus the A3 TDi 130bhp Sport...) They also stated that the motor, arms and blade need replacing to get the floppy wiper and it was basically impossible to do this to mine... and this forum has proved the opposite to me now...
Docklands Audi: 8/10 Where I bought my car and near home. Gave me 6% discount, an accompanied test drive and followed up regularly with phone calls. Told me that Audis can't lock their doors automatically above 5mph and when I insisted they check their computer on the PDI he said they'd try... Car was delivered with doors locking. Two months later they mailed me that after the increase in hijackings in London they are now happy to inform me that they can make my car lock itself above 5 mph: all for £45 inclusive!! hmmm Glad I could show them how to make some money then...

They changed my gear box and did a good job.
I then went back when the alternator belt started slipping every time it rained at tick over then it went away when you revved it and then came back at tick over.I saw the service manager and he said (with a big smile on his face) there's nothing I can do. The belts got a tensioner there's nothing I can do for you! GREAT SERVICE! The car was
2 months old. I phoned audi and they told me to change dealers.
At next dealers they did try hard to solve the problem but didn't suceed.

About a year ago I was far from home going north on the M6 when I got an oil warning light. I couldnt see any problem but drove straight to the Audi dealer in Blackburn, they took it into the workshop checked it all over, topped up the oil ,gave me coffee, and said there would be no charge.I thought that was very good service.
