Hi
I have finally picked up the wifes a2 tdi 90 and its absolutely brilliant. we used to have a 75bhp tdi and the 90 is massively different. I have read that mechanically there are different changes. does anyone know what these are? the turbo definitely sounds much bigger.
has anyone chipped the 90? if so any recommendations? how much? and how different?
many thanks

Variable vaned turbo, different ECU settings and a revised ratioed gearbox amd I think the suspension settings were tweeked as well
I had my TDI 90 chipped 2 months ago by Simon Coe ccctech who is the agent for upsolute . He simply removes the ecu from under the passenger side floor and remaps the original chip .
The whole process took at most 1 hour, he charges £ 295 and the result is brillant. You get alot more low and mid range torque. On the motorway you never have to change down any gear and it just pulls very very well. I was told the mpg should increase slightly but at present it has gone down approximately 5 mpg but i think this is definitely down to me enjoying the extra power!!!.
It definitely makes a very noticable difference as soon as you get in drive and makes a great little car even more fun to drive, i think Upsolute claim it increases the bhp to approximately 116 bhp.
thanks Dale
