I checked with the dealer to see what is available if your mileage will exceed 60k within the 3 years.

You can upgrade the warranty to allow the mileage to exceed 60k (I think up to 100k) but it still ends at 3 years old. The cost is £395.

I think you can extend the original warranty until the car is 5 years old and < 100,000 miles (e.g. includes Roadside) - this used to be 7 years. Above either of these limits Audi UK offer a reduced level warranty which does not cover as much.

See http://www.audi.co.uk/usedcars/warranty/warrantyterms.jsp for details

I asked Audi dealers in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester and they all quote £555 for 12 months warranty extension - my car is now 18 months old. Alternatively you could try Warranties Direct - who offer a more comprehensive cover than the Audi one - ie: damage caused by worn parts is covered. For A2 TDi 12 months costs £214
