Of course you could mention one other 'mass-produced' car that only emitted 80g CO2 per km - the Honda Insight :)

To my knowledge the only other one below 100g/km was the diesel Smart, now also defunct.

Strange that all three cars are no longer produced, just when the Peak Oil theory is becoming reality....:confused:

I do have some pics of an Insight alongside my car whilst travelling up in Lewis/Harris in the Western Isles. Will post these once I get them scanned in.

I thought about an Insight a few years ago but wanted the practicality of a 4 seat hatch after my fun MR2

Have got a link to an Insight website on there already.

Yes it is very annoying that Audi/VW have stopped the Lupo 3L/A2 1.2 TDi and Honda the Insight.


Rather ahead of their time - like a lot of cool inventions!
