I suppose it is the South East Midlands meet really!
Last night we had a successful meet at The Crown, Henlow, attended by Richardaudi0, PaddyS, Darren C and myself - Darren brought his wife Di and beautiful little daughter Kayleigh, and my wife Marie came too.
We spent all evening in the pub chatting away about A2's, roundabouts, babies, camping and lots more besides! Marie and I both feel we made some new friends and hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as we did. We agreed to meet again and hope to make this a regular, with the location moving around the patch so that the same people don't always have to travel the larger distances and others might come too. I'm looking forward to Milton Keynes for a Spag Bol at Darren and Di's - slurp, slurp
I have the bug to try and arrange, with Wooly's assistance, a camping trip next year to a location that has a little something for everyone. More of that later...
I took Darren for a spin in 'ULP' and I think Skipton might have a customer for the cruise control; Richard seemed keen too - I'll be on commission soon. I went out for a quick drive in Darren's A2 with 17" wheels (standard suspension) and the ride was impressive - perhaps it is the sports suspension rather than 17" wheels that, in my opinion, make the Sport such a firm ride. I noticed Darren's gearbox felt much more positive than mine - perhaps I will bring that up come service time.
Being the saddo I am, here are some piccies...
'ULP' (my TDI SE 75) and Richard's TDI 75 SE - I love that red, it really looks superb

PaddyS mega-mile TDI SE 75 and Darren's TDI Special Edition. PaddyS', being an earlier version, really shows how the A2 ages so well. I'd like to think of the A2 as the automotive Jayne Seymour

Come on people - get those country-wide meets sorted!
