Try the RAC or Direct Line for a quote.

Also confused dot com

expect to pay 225 to 300 ish depending on your points status and region.

I'm with Direct Line - full NCB, 35 years old living in Greater Manchester with the TDi 90PS Sport: £290 fully comp.

Cheers,

That is alot of money but doesn't sound too bad when I hear of quotes of £2500 / £3000 for guys your age driving Escorts.

I have 9 yrs no claims but live in a higher risk neighbourhood with the car parked on the road. My Tesco comprehensive insurance recently quoted £350in their renewal letter, I got a (best) quote of £280 from Directline and got Tesco to price match it (helped by me increasing my voluntary excess to the same as the Directline quote) . HTH.

Wow that is a lot  I pay a percentage of that for my (very) modified Lotus (including trackday cover) and my A2 - ok I'm not 23...but I can remember being 23 ;)

£200 with Churchill. 50+ years old, full protected NCB, on drive, Wiltshire (low crime area I read), Social, Domestic, Pleasure & business use, including legal NCB recovery insurance for 75 TDi SE. It was demo and the dealer had already fitted a Tracker but I didn't get a discount. Insurance company said A2 not classed as a high theft risk.

I think there is a higher risk of being written off after an accident so I'm thinking of gap insurance. E.g.
http://www.click4gap.co.uk/sec.asp - must be taken within 90 days of purchase.
http://www.shortfallcover.co.uk - must be taken within 120 days of purchase.
http://www.surfandprotect.com/ - doesn't seem to have any time limit

Insurance Quote-

£1700 seems an awful lot-

I am currently 22 with a 2001 1.4, 2+ years driving and my first quote (no NCB) was £1060 - now I have a years NCB it is down to £670, with Direct Line. Big money in any case, so much for a Group 5 rating!

Regards,

James.

About £230 with Frizzells (the CSMA insurers). Two 40+ year olds in 'Royal' Tunbridge Wells....

And no, we weren't disgusted, quite pleased with the cost in fact! Frizzells also insure the AMG Merc for about £540 - inlcuding business and annual european cover. :D
