My A2 is 9 months old and there is a small squeak comming from the glove box area when the road is a bit rough or when you go round an island.

It's no big deal but I suppose I'm just being fussy!

Anyone had this[?]

Neil,
You are not being fussy. There is nothing more I hate than squeaks and knocks in a car, it drives me daft.. My wife thinks I'm mad and all she says "I can't hear anything".
Funny how at night she can hear me opening a whiskey bottle two rooms away. One of life’s little mysteries. ;)

I have had a squeaky dash almost since I have owned the car - it is annoying, but I have been told that there is nothing I can do..

The problem has recently got worse... The car had the internal panels removed for fixing the electrical terminals and I now have 2 more rattles, which suspiciously cannot be found or fixed (or bothered to be looked at).

This car rattles more than any other car I have known but I still like it (this week).

Silicone spray is supposed to be best-doesn't smell as much as WD-40.

I did have a few noises once, but then I did have the suspension packing left in at the time.....

I agree - squeaks and rattles are a big no-no for me too. However, my wife loves nothing more that the sound of marbles and pens rolling around in the various storage compartments!

Could it be the glove boax door? I had a similar problem in an A6, and found that placing a duster on the back of the glovebox door and then closing it with duster show all around cured the noise. Worth a try to see if you can identify the source.

Yes - I have had a few squeaks and rattles. They have all been traceable to the wife's crazy stacking of CD cases (and not putting CDs back in the case!), lipsticks biros et al.

I am not of course saying that the A2 dash never rattles but the good wife is always the prime suspect!

Thanks evryone, I have emptied the glove box and it's still
squeaks. I suppose the best thing is that it is'nt loud or
constant. (At the moment!)

I find the rest of the car to live up to the great reputation
that AUDI have had since day one. It's great, solid and handles superb for such a small car.

BUT, (not that I have experienced it myself) I find concerning that service centers seem unhelpful and un interested to customers problems / concerns.

After all we have paid a hell of a lot of money for a car that costs a lot more than it's similar rivals. I think the name uses a big chunk of the cost. (one word, same parts and design - SKODA.)

I will endevour to find the troublesome part and update the topic.
