I Just watched this in horror on the news he was going for a land speed record in a jet engined car apparatly he had beaten the record and they where just doing a little extra filming for the BBC i just hope to god that he will be OK as Top Gear will not be the same without him ........

Having worked with Richard whilst he was a presenter at Granada TV, I know that he is a fighter and a thoroughly decent chap to boot. If anyone can recover from this horrific and tragic accident, he can.

I wish him (and his wife and kids) all the best in the world and I know (coming from Leeds as I do) that he is in the best place for his particular injuries.

I don't even want to contemplate anything other than a full recovery. Perhaps it would be best to leave all the dangerous stuff for the Stig from now on.

Pistonheads are setting up a paypal account for donations to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Don't know if anyone on here wants to donate, but I'm going to . These guys do an excellent job, and itLooks like they might have saved Richards life.
