Sorry if this has been covered before, but I did a search and after going into multiple wiring options I now feel somewhat confused (and I thought that SDH telecommunications was complex  ).

Which is the best standard system to try to go for? Symphony? Bose? Are both available in the same car? I've only ever sat in a 2001 tdi that had a Chorus single CD system and I don't know if it had Bose Speakers, but the sound was very, very good...

I have a Symphony II with Bose, the sound is very good for an off the shelf audio package. I certainly wouldn't be tempted to upgrade to an aftermarket system.

We have a Concert with just the standard front door speakers and it sounds extremely good for a basic hifi - to us anyway! The only car we've had that sounded better was the Jag X300 XJR.

I would like to hear what the Bose system is like - if it's better still, then.... So, I'll be nosing around the Bose equipped cars on Saturday at Castle Coombe then ;)

Have a listen to mine if you like - it's a retro-fit version, so will give you a better idea of what can be done to the standard setup.

Cheers,
