cam belt change in Newcastle?

Hi,

Can anybody recommend a garage to change my cam belt in Newcastle area?
Car is now 4 years old, I have done a search of the forum and a few have taken their cars to VW dealers instead?

The lovely local Audi dealer wants £540 for the privilage of working on my car.... my BMW was cheaper to look after!!!

Anyway any help will be appreciated.

Look at my post on this, changed cam belt last week at main VW dealer. Get a quote from your local VW agent, they just looked in the book and said standard rate for that engine £315 inc VAT. Surely its cheaper in Geordie Land than the fat cat South!!

Had mine changed at Wearside Audi in September at was charged £310 but was also having a service at the same time so not sure if that had any influence on the price.

I have a 'Premier Plus 3' card as I bought my car from Newcastle Audi which can also be used in Wearside and this gives me a discount of 30% on the labour rate. Could be an idea to ask about the card as it is for cars over three years old.
