Squeeky Alternator Belt / Tensioner?

Hi,

Anyone had squeeky alternator belt or maybe it's the tensioner? Changed the belt and all was fine for a few weeks then noise returned. Worst in the cold from start up. Doesn't occur under load (or is drowned out by the 3 cyl diesel) - just at idle or coasting (something the 1.2TDI does with aplomb!).

I am about to get timing belt changed along with water pump so perhaps it's as well to change tensioner?

cam belt
you would be well advised to change all / tensioner/ water pump and idler at the same time.
alternator belt tensioner take it off and see if you got play in the bearing if so change or it could be dry put a bit of oil on the bearing see if that help's

cheers Robin

Thanks Robin

Will advise the garage next week and see what happens.

Eurocar parts are v competitive on cambelt (Conti Tech CT1090 for 1.2 TDI) price

Cheers
