Hmmm... Had I known that after owning an A2 for 15 months I would have to pay out £1200 for replacement parts and a service I would certainly have changed my mind!
I have had to have my CAT, one of the ignition coils and the Dip stick replaced! As well as brake fluid and a service (be it a small one since its still under 30K miles).
Has anyone had there dip stick replaced and if so did it cost £155? Aparently the tube that leads to the oil sump has split and oil has leaked into the engine. I have never seen any signs of an oil leak! Is this normal? Are Audi pulling a fast one??
Any thoughts would be much appreciated...

well I can relate to your costs of owning an A2 I had £900 worth of repairs carried out in just two years and luckily for me it was under warranty. Now sold the car as warranty had exspired and the gear box was beginning to whine and engine light kept coming on. In all of my years of owning cars the A2 has got to top the lot in things going wrong. I was under the impression that Audi were the bees knees and things just didnt go wrong quite as often as other makes. how so very wrong was I perhaps I was just unlucky but reading the posts maybe I am the lucky one in seeing the light and selling the car before it cost me serious money

Shouldn't the oil be in the engine anyway?

The ignition coil - coil pack- should have been replaced under the extended warranty for all 1,6FSi petrol engines. Audi extended the guarantee for this component to 5 years from first registration date. If you've been charged for this I'd go back and ask for your money back.

I have had three coil packs go and have had to pay for them all, after number of calls from the dealer to Audi UK they said that they are not covered by an extended guarantee!!

Call Audi UK direct yourself. I did and having had the same experience from my dealer as you I got three changed under warranty last February. Audi customer care told me last Feb that the warranty for coil packs has been extended to 5 years from 1st registration of the car. I've had 7 coil packs changed altogether, all under warranty, my 1,6FSi is the samer vintage as yours, I have 1 year guarantee left but as an updated version is used now I am told that the problem is sorted, certainly I have had no problems since.
Ring Audi customer care on 08457 573340, the extended warranty for coil packs is no fantasy.

Coil packs - continued!
Could you let me know what the symptoms for faulty coil pack(s) are?
I had one replaced after 4 years (at a routine service) after a fault was apparently logged. I had no indication from the DIS or performance or fuel consumption that there was a problem. Vehicle is Sept 2002 Reg.

my dip sstick end was snapped off so i thoufght id price them up. Wakefield Audi said they were 37.50 plus vat. I decided to leave it at that as i thought it was a bit much. £155 must be for thedipstcik tbe and refitting etc, i presume
Kind regards Paul
