View Full Version : ABS light problem?
Hi all, have had my abs light come on with another symbol (!) in yellow, also this symbol in red on the main display when starting up and driving away. Also having slight problems with the speedo jumping and not doing the correct speed, but this is intermitant. Got it looked at and got the speed sensor replaced and seemed to be fine until the abs light came on again today with the other symbols but went off again after switched ignition off and on again. Will keep an eye on it again but anyone else have this problem? was it something else?

Might be worth just double checking the wiring harness to the sensors on each front wheel.. Brake replacements etc can cause doddgy warnings to crop up..

Hi A2DK
If the ABS, (!) and 'triangle' warning lights are all on together it indicates there is a problem with the EBPD (electronic brake pressure distibrution) system. A diagnostic scan would identify which part of the system is at fault.
As you'r probably aware these lights are illuminated briefly when the ignition is first switched on and the system performs a self test. They should however go out after a couple of seconds.

I also have the same problem - how much is this likely to cost?

Just has the same issue with my Sport - in my case it was a very small break in the front wheel sensor wire - which is apparently very common on Sport models due to the 17" wheels chafing the wires.
Wire repaired - both lights off and everything funtioning ok. Best get this checked first before you go shelling out cash.

This is actually the subject of a technical bulletin issued to dealers by Audi HQ and there is now a redesigned wiring loom available which overcomes the 17" problem.
Cheers,
