when sitting in the car with no engine on the doors (when locked earlier) do not open in anyway without using the key or starting the engine (?)
thus: don't stay a locked A2 when somebody else takes the keys out .....

Have you tried pulling the interior handle twice to open the door. Once to unlock, once more to open.
1.4SE petrol in Merlot Red, Biege interior, 16" 5 spoke alloys, DIS, Open Sky, Elec rear windows.

Not if the car is locked (by the remote or by the exterior lock..)
You will get yourself trapped in the car... [:I]

Of course, double locking.
Not a lot of people know that!

Remember never to lock anyone in the car using the remote - they cannot get out without breaking a window.
If you lock someone in accidentally you also have to remember to unlock AND open a door before you leave them or the doors will automatically re-lock after 30 seconds (or is it 45?)

In case of an accident the locks should open. The car has a separate crash sensor which is not used for the airbags to determine if it's in a crash.
Just to be sure I always have a lifehammer in the car. Not only for my safety but also for those of other people.

has anyone managed to lock their keys in the car yet due to leaving them in there for longer than 30 seconds with the doors closed? I don't think the car locks itself if the key is in the ignition.

I think you must put your keys in the boot to lock them in. The automatic locking after 30 seconds works only if no door has been opened after unlocking.
