Flashing Interior lights on 51reg A2 TDI SE

Our A2 has a strange fault - the interior lights flash from start up for about 10 mins then stop. The boot light does not work also.

I have had an independant Audi Dealer check it out and they reckon its the convieniance unit for the lights which i understand is mounted in teh boot.

Audi want around £250 for this which is a bit steep.

Does anyone know a compatable ie from an other car that might work - or the part number of the item? or if this sounds viable.

there is a blue A2 on ebay that is being broken.

it may be worth asking if they have one?

It is not mounted on the boot - it is in the underfloor compartment on the passenger side - so easy to access once you have lifted the carpet up and taken the compartment cover off.

Thats how mine started,flashing lights, followed by the alarm going off, doors unlocking etc.Changed the unit,thankfully under extended warrenty and its now sorted :)

Now my petrol cap release button has fell off, I've got the spring,white bit in the middle and the button......how do you fix it :rolleyes: Spike...Skipton ????
