I Just watched Hammond in an old repeat of Top Gear .
He sat in a VW Golf in a power substation in Germany
while they simulated a lightning strike to the car ...

He sat there while they passed 800,000 Volts through
the roof of the car it displayed various errors on the dash .,
but when he started the car everything including Hammond worked OK
and he drove of ......

My Burning Question is i expect your all thinking Durggghhhh !!!!!
Is would this be the same result if Passed through an A2 as its made of
Aluminium instead of Steel .......;)

If anything Carl, you should be safer as aluminium conducts electricity far better than steel, which is why it's used in overhead power cables (as well as being lighter in weight too!).

Cheers,

Mike

Give it a go if you like and report back!
