cooling system warning light

The warning light on the panel has come on indicating a problem with the cooling system. In the manual it says that this happens because either the coolant level is too low or the coolant temp is too high. As far as the coolant level is concerned, its a bit high if anything. The light comes on as soon as the engine is started so it can't be because the coolant temp is too high. The car has just come back from the garage where it had the front suspension coils changed. Is there something the garage could have done to cause this problem?.. disconnected a sensor or something?

Thanks

Hi seanl
If the coolant temp gauge still works normally then it's possible the plug or wires to the coolant level sensor have been dislodged. I don't know the relative position of the level switch but it's worth asking the garage if they may have disturbed the wiring when changing the springs.

as spike says they may have moved the colent sensor as it is in the top up bottle it you take off the bonnet where you top up the warter their is a plug on it just undo and refit to see if there is a loose connection on it
