This is the engine the A2 should have had

No, they should have stuck the A3s 2.0TDi in there, with DSG to boot. Now that would have been a seller!

Mike

totally! My friend has his Mk5 Golf 2.0 TDi DSG chipped to 177 on a rolling road. Although a manual box would deliver more after the flywheel, but the DSG is so sweet and I don't mind. It would be perfect in a A2.

Hi Johann,

My A2 1.2 TDI Tiptronic does all and more than Polo BlueMotion - and its got an 86 gm/km emmission level in hi spec loaded form which in UK motoring has delivered over 86 mpg in 42 k miles from new in Sept 2005.

Ciao,

Erling

it should have been a VR6 3.2 to help keep front wheel traction and a bullet proof engine

cheers
Robin

I am with Johann on this one.

We bought our A2 based on the looks and the engine (did not know about the 1.2TDI) not how much power or how fast.
