How easy is it to remove the fitted covers and replace them with leather ones? I have seen some leather ones for sale but don't want to risk buying them and then not being able to fit them!
Cheers

It's a pain in the butt - I removed my leather seat cover to retrofit seat heating and 1 seat took me all day!
If I were you, I'd get the covers (they are good value at £600) and get a car upholstery specialist to fit them. They'll probably charge another £300 or so, but it'll be worth it.
Cheers,
Mike

Looks like they sold for £350.
I was interested, but I want black leather instead ideally.
Does anybody know who makes these covers for Audi? I'm thinking of having my interior retrimmed or going for the TT front seats in leather.

yes, it would be nice to find out who makes the covers. I am sure there is a stock room full of them gathering dust!

I've just had my TDI SE with leather written off and am struggling to find another. Might it be easier for me to just buy one with a standard interior and then try and buy back my interior? Or even buy just back back the seats then I wouldnt have to mess around trying to swap the covers over?

I bought the red ones off Ebay in the end. I am slightly suspicious that they might be for sport seats as I have only seen these on sport seats before. Is there any way of telling?
Also I'm not really sure if they go with my grey interior, so not sure if I should put them on.

Hi Mark,
Skipton would know for sure, but i am pretty certain they will only fit the sports seats as these were only available with the leather option as far as i can remember.

Hi Mark, let me know the part numbers on the front seat covers (base and backs) and I'll tell you if they're for sports or normal.

Hi Mark,
These numbers may be batch numbers, but they are not part numbers - look for something starting with 8Z0 881.......

But the seller wrote, that they have three transverse joints , not two and that makes it clear!
Sport seats have more joints than normal-seats.

Here what the seller wrote (this is wrong):THEY WILL FIT ALL A2 CARS WITH STANDARD SEATS BUT ACCORDING TO THE AUDI INFORMATION I HAVE, THERE ARE 2 or 3 CROSSWIRE SEAM SEATS AND THESE ARE FOR 3 SEAM MODELS. ( I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE !)
So, for me it was clear, what he sells.
And they are sport. See it:
My normal gray seat and the image, I got from the seller:

Hi erstens, I have standard leather seats and have 3 seams. I have just looked through photos on classified adverts, sports . The best way is to identify is by part number, failing that, get a measure of the width of the 'wings', they are much larger than standard on the sports.

On the earlier A2s they don't have a flaf at the back of the seat to stop things falling down the back of the seat maybe this is what he is on about.
They do look like they are sports seats from the pictures.

There don't appear to be any part numbers. There are just 2 labels with various numbers on. I took a photo of the labels if that's any help (sorry the quality is not very good).
Label 1 (http://www.urban-gorilla.co.uk/label1.jpg)
Label 2 (http://www.urban-gorilla.co.uk/label2.jpg)

Hi Mark,
The labels are those of the 3rd party manufacturer, WET Automotive and other than the colour code (6Y6) and the colour name (Amulet Red) there is no info that I can tell the seat type from.
The best bet is to look at the backrest covers - sport seats have a very large side support, as opposed to the standard seats. Measure the distance from the vertical seam in the seat back to the vertical seam on the side support and compare the measurement to your own seats.
Cheers,
Mike

I read: W10 (A2) Basis mit HZ . It means: basic with heating (HZ= Heizung). So the sports version should not be "basic"

Just wanted to let everyone know that I never got around to fitting these covers as I didn't think they really went with my light grey interior. Also I'm still not sure if they fitted my seats, so if anyone still wants to take the plunge and try them in their car, they are back on Ebay now here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220150221125).
