Just a quick question regarding the A2 engine cover.
Can anyone confirm if this engine cover was fitted to every A2?
It would be great if someone could check on their ETKA disc for me.
Cheers,
Paul.

If you're talking about the fibrous cover, held on by a couple of nuts, then yes, every A2 had one, although a lot of them have been discarded in the intervening years.

Thanks mike,
The dealer i purchased my car from thinks certain A2s were not fitted with this cover???
Apparently he entered my cars details into their system and says it was never fitted to this model? "Apparently" the ETKA disc states not for my model.............Hmmmmmmmmm something to do with numbers between 6000 and 150001 whatever that means?

I thought so mike!
Where can i find the numbers that you need?
This was missing from the car, and part of the presale deal was to replace anything that was missing!
Looks like i will name and shame the dealer, depending on what happens.....

Hi Erstens.
This link is the same engine as mine (TDI) It also has the cover missing as seen in the picture.

Notice the two bolt threads top left and right of the engine, also a black bolt hole bottom towards the left.

The data sticker is on the inside cover of the service booklet and has all sorts of codes on it, which refer to the equipment at the time it left the factory.

So you see it is normal! There is no part missing.
(I get this intention reading the german forum)

^^ OK I was wrong. my pictures are not showing the original condition as delivered by Audi.
So there was a cover but it had been removed.

Erstens,
There is a picture of the TDI engine fitted with this cover in the gallery section of this forum.
Mike,
I have emailed you with all the details.
