Hi all, I'm new here, well that's not really true as I had an A2 back in 04 until someone wrote it off for me and for the last 18 months been driving a mazda rx8... anyway I am just about to get an A2 again as I loved my first one so much :)... and it's a little cheaper to run than my mazda ..:) I had sat nav in my original A2 but ths time I don't and I can see that little cubby in the dashboard looking like it needs something in it rather than cd's and junk. Has anyone found ans fitted anything useful like an indash cd changer I know blaupunkt do one single Din size is that too big for the cubby do you think?... anyone got any good (sensible) suggestions? :-)

The slot is single DIN height, but rounded at the bottom, so is useless as is.
On a few A2s, the climate panel moves down to the slots position and then a double DIN headunit is fitted, sucha s the Symphony2 or the RNS-E navigation system.
The only trouble is that you can't move the climate panel down without getting a new dash, as there is no central cage available as per other Audi models.
So, either new dash and play till your heart's content, or stick with what you have.
Cheers,
Mike

ok thanks for the advice. Seems a shame you can't get anything in there. Has anyone blocked it off or created a little flap like on the A3? Call me "odd" just don't like the "missing" equipment feel LOL

So when you say new Dash - what we talking here? Is it not modular i.e. get bits from a scrappy?

The dash is a one piece unit. It's not possible to modify it using a double din cage as you can for most other Audi's. So, if you want to fit a Symphony head unit or factory sat nav then you need a whole new dash.
