where is the fuel filter?

The fuel filter is hiden behind a heat shield in front of the rear nearside wheel arch - see link for more info on changing it

It's not that I'm lazy, but searches never seem to work on my mac??

Don't know if the location is different for the TDI's or the later cars but on my 2001 1.4 petrol the fuel filter is on the Offside corner or the fuel tank.
Changed mine today(Found it Still had the original one on)and it was easily accessible and did not require the removal of any heatshields all in all a easy 15minute job.
