I am about to fit a Sony 10 Disc CD changer (CDX 656) to my standard fit Audi Chorus head unit using a Connects 2 adaptor.

Has anyone had experience of doing this? If they have, how simple a job is it? What is the best place to site the CD changer in the car as the boot seems to be taken up by the battery and foam stuff that isn't a spare wheel?

Why does the A2 not come with a spare wheel as standard and only the foam stuff?

Hi dolf, welcome to the A2oc
Some members have fitted the smaller Sony changer in the glove box but I don't think there is an easy solution for locating the 10 disc unit. Check out the attached link which has some suggestions which may work

Regarding the spare wheel, Audi spent a fortune making the A2 lighter than most other cars in class so adding 15kg (i'm guessing here) of spare wheel went against the grain, particularly when the chances of a puncture are fairly remote. Many customers did not like the idea so Audi reluctantly offered a spare as a no cost factory option

Cheers Spike,

The information is really usefull. I think the only feasable location is on the boot floor behind the access flap to the battery. I will post my results when I get round to fitting the changer.
