I like the Audi A2 so much, I recently 'upgraded' to one with leather and Open Sky :) . My 2002 (02) 1.4TDI SE in Azure Blue will shortly be up for sale on Autotrader but I thought I would give you guys first shout. In summary:
Positives
Mileage - 38,300 (relatively low)
New MoT to April '08
Audi Approved Used Warranty to July '07 (directly transferable for small fee)
Taxed to end of Jan '08 (as the car is post 2001, tax is £35 per year)
Audi Service History - variable service intervals, next due in 6,300 miles
Usual SE benefits - Foglights, two tier boot, climate control and 16" alloy wheels
Excellent Condition
PLUS Alpine DVD Sat Nav Stereo (INA-N333R) with 6 CD changer (capable of reading MP3 CDs) and four Pioneer speakers. Originally cost £1900 supplied and installed; also comes with hands-free Nokia mobile phone holder/connecter (not fitted in A2)
Negatives
Never been able to get the plastic plugs to hold down the front mats (?)
CD changer takes up most of the room in the glovebox
One small scratch on n/s/f alloy, likely caused by the MoT tester :(
Please PM me if you wish to arrange a viewing or make a sensible offer. Thanks!

I would love to buy a cheap damaged A2 to mess about with and cut the roof off, candy paint job and drop it to the floor like my wifes knickers :D

I have read of some germans who actually fitted an opensky to his car, so it must be possible

I have seen a few pictures of an A2 pick up truck, im sure they are in the gallery section?
I thought about doing the sky roof but a bit too much effort for me, and i think it was not really possible if i remember rightly.

What would you consider to be a sensible offer?Book is £6400 but I notice your Autotrader price is way above this.

Thanks for your interest. Of course I am open to sensible offers and I recognise that my advertised price is above book values (I could have sworn that book values were higher than that when I first advertised the car!). However when doing a search for diesel A2's with less than 40,000 miles on Autotrader, mine is the cheapest within 60 miles of my address, apart from one 2001 model. My advertised price also reflects part of the value of the Alpine Sat Nav (the head unit alone is still retailed at £1,000). Please feel free to PM me if you would like to come and look at the car. Thanks!

Many thanks for the offer.
My wife has a 2004 1.4se in black with the open sky roof which she bought two weeks ago & I have been quite impressed with the car, apart from the rather harsh ride.
I`m still undecided between the A2 & the VW Polo Dune, the latter is very much cheaper & I have always been impressed with the VW`s that we have had in the past.
I don`t want to waste your time but when/if I get over dithering & make up my mind I will be sure to keep yours in mind.
Best of luck with the sale.

Book price is one thing..................for a standard car. Factor in a near unique specification and it adds to the value.
I've very recently been offered £6500 part-ex by a dealer for my '51 1.4 SE Tdi with 36000 miles on the clock. This was £5500 book price for the car plus £500 for the low mileage and £500 for the extras. (Granted against a used Saab Viggen Convertible at £8000).
Mine has Open Sky, Climate, Aluminium Pack, Rear Bench Seat, Symphony 2, Centre cubby etc, etc.
Try doing a search for cars with open sky (hugely desireable) and they are few and far between. Leather is as rare as hens teeth and to my mind makes MPGLover's car very special. If I was in the market for one I'd snap it up, after a little negotiation on the price you understand!!!
Good luck with the sale, whilst it's only worth what someone will pay, in my opinion there comes a time when you have to say "is it worth more to me than giving it away for such a low price?"
Where else can you get such quality, individuality, practicality and style coupled together with 70 mpg and £35 road tax?

Whoops!
Just noticed that spec's the new car!
The sentiments still apply though!!
On the Polo Dune tdi front, I like them too. It was one of the car's I was looking at when we got the A2. Only problem is that they are heavier than the A2 so I believe they don't qualify for the £35 road tax due to the slightly higher emmisions.

is this still on the market? I've trawled autotrader but don't think I've noticed this one.

:bump: Still for sale! - This is harder than I thought it would be - have the public forgotten about fuel price rises already? Price reduced. I have had a couple of near sales, those that have seen the car describe it as immaculate.
