A 185/55 R 16 tyre would be really touch and go and I can't recommend you fitting it as the chances of the tyre fitting under the arches is minimal.
I am running 215/40 R 17 and there is less than 10mm clearance at full lock. My tyres have a diameter of 605mm and your proposed tyre is 610mm, so you can see how tight it would be.
Cheers,
Mike

But you can do 195/50 instead. See middle of the page here http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=4727&page=7

The other alternative is to keep the standard tyres and fit Koni FSD shocks. We've found that this virtually banishes the bangs from the suspension when you go over a pothole etc.
