Hi all, well time has come to try and fit my audi ipod adaptor. Have to say i was kind of hoping for clearer instructions... LOL I'm not exactly knowledgable about "wires". Anyway can anyone give me a brief overview. I have a concert stereo in my 05 A2 sport. I see i have a choice of cable to use... one with lots of loose wires which I guess is for nav units or something? And another cable that looks a lot easier to plug in. It has a nice little blue connector on one end and the other end seems to plug into the black box (very technical). I understand I'm looking for a port on the back of the stereo which i can plug the blue conector into.. sounds simple enough.(cough) I also see there are two brown wires... one has a little back plug on it and the other a little metal clip. I'm guessing but are these to earth it? (probably not knowing my skills) Do i plug/connect both and if so is it obvious where?... Any assistance to my slightly rubbish questions would be great!... We all have to start somewhere I guess! LOL Planning to do what some of you people have done and take the cubby thing out and drill a hole and put the wire through... Looks nice and neat and tucked away :)... thnaks!

Re: little blue plug. Has it got 8 pins in a 3-2-3 configuration? If so, it should plug into the 'I' connector for pin 13-20, replacing CD changer. I'm also assuming your car doesn't have Bose, which you'll need a mini-iso adapter to extend the wiring from the car and slide-in your blue plug. See this link http://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/63403.phtml and look for connector 'I'.
I'm not so sure about the other two wires, think they are earth, check the instruction :)

Just fitted one of these myself a couple of weeks back.
Glove box removal - There are visible screws along the top edge of the glovebox when open and one underneath on the rhs quite near the back. There are then more hidden ones - one behind the little plastic 'coin holder' thing (thins just clips into place) and once on the lhs, for this one where the trim down the doorcomes together, carefully unclip it and push apart, you will see another glove box fixing here. Be very carefull with glovebox lid as they are fragile, so no weight on it at any time.
Remove glovebox. Remove radio. Work out where you will feed wire and clip it / tape it to prevent rattles.
Drill holes in glovebox (11mm? - cant quite remember), thread wire and grommit and feed wires up behind consol into rear of radio appeture.
Now mine needed the use of the bunch of lose cables - it has a connector for the black box one end and loads of lose cables the other. These slot into the iso connector already in place, make suer you check slot numbers as they are a bugger to remove. Basically the diagram you get is very good, place eash wire colour into appropriate slot number it really is thatsimple, just make sure you take time and it no issue.
Put all back in place and sorted.
If you are in or near MK then drop me a line I can give you a hand if you need.
