It was just a matter of time, I mean having time to get up there :D
Didn't had the time, so I send my son (who was quite happy to do it) up there to oversee the chipping at Stealth Racing.
Its a pitty I din't had the time myself so i could have met these awesome quys.
According to my son there were at least 4 other A2 there so they must have had a busy day
The result
was 79.9 bhp at 3439 revs
To 103.5 bhp at 3957 revs
and
155.2 Lbft at 2324 revs to
182.8 Lbft at 2277
My son was very impressed how much quicker and stronger the car had become, so much better to drive
Today i will be taking it out for a spin, and will update you shortly
In the mean time a great thanks to the stealth guys for being very helpfull and being a good host to my son

Had mine done a couple of weeks ago now i'll give you the figures:
Torque was:187.4 lb ft @2009 rpm
Torque now:211.5 lb ft @ 196 rpm :D
Power was:97.9 bhp @3285 rpm
Power now:110.1 bhp @ 3474 rpm
to top it all off I've just taxed the little rascal for £35 online, a very pleasing experience - giving me the smugness for which i am known throughout my work.
This should go some way to compensating for the sp 30 fixed penalty notice that came through my door last night.
New remappers: you have been warned!!!:(
Best wishes Paulc

So its time to write a little update two days after I had the car chipped
The overall impression is that the drive has become so smooth, in the past there was always the urging need to shift up or down, and you where a slave of the gear stick, but now with the extra tork it is so forgiving and smooth
But the real shock game when i took it on the moterway, and really gave it its pace. putting the pedal to the metal, and OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH boy did it go the accelaration is unbelieveable, and how fast it took me to the 120 mph was just crazy (and yes i know driving that fast is also crazy:D ) it was awesome.
It just swept me off my feet, I had no idea this little car could do that
So if you are thinking of chipping (remapping) do it, it is money well spend
Chris
(who is now very happy and should have done the remap much sooner)

So glad that you like your remap on your A2 it is what audi should have done.
It makes the car so much better all round and it was a nice to meet your son maybe next time it will be you.
The other three A2s belong one to me' one to graham'and one to john.
Hi Manhattan$
I think you are right so when are you down for your remap??::rolleyes:

All this talk has made me determined to get the Pink Panzer done.
Have found a local place via Superchips website, a quid under £500!
Will save up and ask around the local motor supplies shops to see how they're rated.

That has just reminded me!
I have named my A2 TDI......... :o Sooty. :o
Due to the black sooty deposits my trusty oil burner leaves on my rear bumper! So when i mention Sooty in any posts you know who Hahaha

how much are we talking to remap on average
cheers
ps does the mpg suffer
Havank
10-05-2007, 12:35 PM
due to the offer currently on at stealth was it 225 plus vat
MPG is actually slightly better, due to the fact that the car is more powerfull, (read stronger) therefore less of a struggle to get up hill etc

what mileage is your A2 at? before your chipping?
mine is at 130,000... I heard it's not a good idea to chip high mileage vehicles??? not sure if this is true or not?

That is not bad :)
I bought mine with something like that on the clock. but i do between 70 and 90 miles a day, so that clocks up quite quick:mad:

Ha ha oh yeah! Mines at 36k at present, hope it will last for at least another 100k. I recall seeing on the forum somewhere that the record is about 180k. To achieve this would be nice!

Hi Robin, Just booked it in!
Went for the rolling road remap :D
The only thing is the wife wants to come along too, so dont mention the price! ;)
I just have a few questions that i forgot to ask vince on the phone.
* Is the remap software for the A2 designed by yourselves? (just curious)
* If the Audi dealer has to reprogram the ECU for any reason and wipes the remap are there any charges to put the remap back on?
* Are there any charges to revert the remap back to the standard map?
* This question may have already been answered, but is your remap detectable?
* And what payment methods are accepted?
Cheers,
Paul. :)

Finally took the splunge yesterday and paid a visit to Vince at Stealth Racing!
Oh so glad I did!
My first surprise (and to Vince) was how much the car was pushing out as 'standard':
87.5 bhp and 168.3 lb/ft torque!
Skipton, I remember you telling me 2003 was the best build year!!
After the initial re-map, this rose to 108 and 185, but had a bit of a blip in the power curve at around 4000 rpm.
In the end decided best to go for a smooth curve than max gains, and reined things in a bit!
Final figures are 106.2 bhp and 179 lb/ft.
But it's way the car delivers that power that's changed most. It pulls much more cleanly at low revs (2nd gear roundabouts can now be taken in 3rd) and has a wider power band pulling very quickly and smoothly to well over 4000 rpm. The car has a more refined, smoother feel about it - the way Audi should have made it!
As for fuel consumption, it's too early to tell for sure. Trouble is it's just too tempting and easy to boot it (at the moment anyway!!), but cruising back at a steady motorway speed I'd say the MPG has actually improved slightly, maybe because it produces more torque at lower revs??
Either way I'm a very happy customer.
Thanks Vince!!
Cheers,
Simon

Simon oh Simon
Welcome in the 'YOU HAVE BEEN CHIPPED CLUB'
A club first only available to a few select members is rapidly becoming a club open to the public :D :D , and right so if I may say
And that all to the good ole work of te Stealth boys
Keep them coming boys, keep them coming
So Simon, didn't you whish you had taken the plunge earlier.
And to think that the cost is actually only the equivalent of about 9 fill-ups :D

Yep - it was worth every penny, and yes wish I'd done it earlier!!
The speed it pulls away on the motorway is very impressive. Briefly had it showing 115 mph and I reckon it'll wind up a fair bit more...

Zipped over to stealth today to get my A2 remapped. :D
A couple of stealth A2's were outside, one belonging to john that looked very nice sitting on 18" rs4's! Yum.
The first run on the rollers with the car as standard produced 93.3bhp @ 3922rpm, and 187.4lbs of tourqe @ 2034rpm.
Whilst the car was on the rolling road the wife who was outside getting some sun noticed lots of smoke coming out the back of the stealth workshop, she thought my car was on fire! :p lol.
In the end the car finished up at 108.4bhp @ 4258rpm, and 204.5lbs of torque @ 1905rpm.
Not bad, but i was hoping it would break the 110bhp barrier :( . I managed to take a few pics from the day, that i will post later.
Thanks to vince and john for doing a great job!

That is still a great result though :D :D
And nice you made some pics of whilst the work got done
The number of un-chipped A2's is getter smaller and smaller :D

The car now drives alot better. Much smoother power delivery instead of the standard narrow surge of power it did have.
MPG seems to have improved slightly, and overtaking is much safer due to the much welcomed power. Motorway speed acceleration is outstanding especially in 5th!
It may just be me, but my poor little A2 seems to get bullied due to its small size. What a shame i embarrassed a bmw 118d 1 series the other day :D
Having the A2 remapped is the best thing i have done! :)
