On the cassette door it says Audi Symphony. So I have 6 x CD and cassette plus radio of course.

I have seen that it is possible to have a CD changer in the boot as well.

Does anyone know if there is a Mini Disc changer that is compatible.

I appreciate that I may have to get second hand as MD's seem to be out of favour.

PS Whilst on the subject will the CD player play MP3 format CD's

Cheers

Hi,
Try this site, I bought a sony HD5 mp3 adaptor which seemed to consist of 2 connects 2 boxes, one into the symphony & one to the HD5, I'd imagine is the minidisc changer is the same connectors as a MP3 or CD one this will do the trick

Thanks for that Mike.

The plot thickens - at least for me.

I was looking under the boot floor at luchtime to find what seems to be a space for the changer.

It's a plastic sleeve with a bit of wiring attached that is to the left of the battery and above the tyre compressor. There doesn seem to be anything for the changer to connect to though.

BTW it's a 2004 TDI Sport.

That's a common misconception - the plastic sleeve is actually for the Audi Navigation unit or the tv tuner that were options.

The changer actually goes in the off-side boot trim and requires a new trim to fit it. Most people have found that it is cheaper and far, far easier to get an iPod and am interface.

It also gives you up to a month or so of music, as opposed to 10 hours max.

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks, MD changers are a bit thin on the ground these days but there is a Sony one still available. So the connects 2 thingy may well do the trick. They have a stockist very near to me so I can check it out with them.

One more question; Is the wiring for the changer already in place?

I'm sure you are right if starting from scratch. But I already have MD in my "other" car (plus MD in the HiFi and a portable recorder/player) and a whole stack of MD's already recorded. Plus with MDLP you can get 40 hours of time in a x6 changer.
