Does the Driver Information System come standard on the sports model or does one have to ordered it at first purchase.

Also the electric lumbar support,, how helpful is it and how does it work..

DIS comes with the UK Sports pack as standard.

Electric lumbar works OK, button on the outside edge of the seat, much easier than those manual thumbwheel versions.

You can't add it afterwards was partly our reason for specifying it, and we were also going from cloth to leather seats and were not sure if the profile would be different

Yep have both and wouldn't be without either. Lumbar is a toggle button, forward and reverse and you can feel the seat moving out into the small of your back - I have it all the way out in the A2 and the A4 (which uses a wheel :( not a button)
