Fault & vagcom help

Hi can any one help?
The glow plug light on the car was flashing so i done a vagcom check which show the following:

Address 01 Engine
Controller: 045 906 019 G
Coding: 00002
1 Fault found:
16989 - internal control module - P0605 - 35-00 - -

Is the fault code 16989 or P0605 - 35-00 - -?

16989 is the fault code - there's no record of it on Ross Tech Wiki though. The nearesr is 16990 which suggests replacing the engine ECU, or 16985, which suggests a dodgy chip or firmware.

16989 is the DTC and P0605 is the P code they both point to the same problem

"Internal Contr.Module ROM Test Error".

just been out and the fault seems to have disapeared. Must have been the mrs driving.

Hi there, Could I have some advice about my A2, she starts great then if I have to stop ,go into tescos for about half and hour and then try to start her she will try over but will not start ,then after I hae tried to start her two or three times then she starts but I can tell that she doesn't what to????

Get a vagcom check to see if any fault codes have been logged

Hi all,

I`m gonna be really cheeky here cos i admit i have not logged on here for a while.

Anyone got the VAG COM Diagnostics i could hook the old gurl up to?

I live in south leicestershire so northampton, lincolnshire, notts etc not a problem for me ... assuming she gets me there.:D

I would be most gratful if someone could help me out cos she lost power doing 75 on duakl carriageway the other day which scared the hell out of me ( and the white van man i cut up to get to hard shoulder)
