For some reason my Symphony Audio System has gone into SAFE mode. I turned it off this morning and the cd made some noises as though it was trying to load. Since then it has been in SAFE mode.

Unfortunately, the code card is missing from the instruction manual and I do not know the code to get the system working again.

Is it a standard code applicable to all A2s or is there a way I can find out?

I'd be very grateful for any help because although I have only been without my cd and radio (and cassette) for a day, I really miss having ICE.

Look forward to hearing from somebody.

Thank you in anticipation.

Hi CWD.
The code is unique to the head unit and acts as an anti theft deterrant. Assuming the Symphony was factory fitted, the garage which originally supplied the car will have the code on file.

Cheers Spike

Any Audi garage will decode for you for free I believe so long as it's the original unit that it.

Incidently mine did the same thing, put the code in and it didn't happen again, it also had a habit of deciding to switch itself on and off one day whilst driving, again didn't do it again, strealer couldnt find a fault on vagcom.
