I can't advise on town driving as I don't do too much of it.. all I can say is, don't drive it like a petrol, change up early and stay away from the higher revs!

I get 320 miles till warning comes on. Been using V-POWER diesel for about a month now. Mine is the small tank.

Based upon your numbers above, your MPG is between 42 and 43 which isn't terribly good. However, town driving can be incredibly variable and lots of stop/ starts at lights/ crossings/ roundabouts will hammer the economy.

My A2 was used for about 50% driving on open A-roads and 50% in an extremely car unfriendly town, and I'd get 53mpg-ish on average.

As Ian said, changing-up early and using the torque is the way to go.

Hi Four Rings,

I have been on holidays for the past two weeks so I have not had a chance to reply.

I can confirm that I get the same sort of MPG doing short journeys of a couple of miles in stop start traffic. I can also get 60+ MPG on a long journey by keeping to legal speeds. I hope this reassures you.

I must update my spreadsheet...
