Just wondering if there were any right-hand drive orange A2s? I've had my lefty since 2000. I would think that they would be rare indeed (righties). Lefties certainly are.

The colour is actually referred to as a red, I think it's called 'Jaipur Red' or something like that. It was sold for a while in the UK, and you do see them come up for sale every know and then, but I'm not sure any forum members have one in that colour. It looks good to me!

The colour.storm (with the black bumpers and roof) was available as a 'proper' orange.

Is the roof OSS or is it a black plastic coating?

On the one in the picture it is Open-Sky, but the standard colour.storm has black rubbing strips, wheel arches and roof in addition to Matrix upholstery with the interior colour as a 'check', i.e. black interior with orange check on this model.

This is the best picture I could find of the interior:

These show the roof better

You could have a colour.storm as an option (£500 I think) with any of the models in the standard range i.e. 1.4 Sport, 1.6FSI, 1.4TDI SE etc. etc.

Sprint Blue was a colour.storm colour which really suits the A2 but was not an option without the colour.storm pack - I have seen one such Sprint Blue colour.storm with open-sky (to delete the black roof), black leather (to delete the blue/ black matrix) and body colour rubbing strips and wheel arches - it looked ace.

I would... buy one of these that is!! ;)

Personal opinion and all that, but I think that this orange looks great on the A2 and the black plastic of the 'storm' doesn't even look out of place.

That said mind, a loud orange interior may prove a tad overpowering for the daily commute... :)

My A2's color is listed as 'Pearl Effect Orange'. I've seen plenty of reds, but only a handful of oranges (maybe 20) in the 7 years I've had mine. I should come to a members gathering sometime. I don't know that there is such a thing here in Germany.

According to the DVLA stats as at Sept 05 there were 7 UK orange A2s. Bear in mind the accuracy is dependent on the dealer. The stats below probably reflect that some dealers are colour challenged or some A2 owners have had a custom respray (unlikely).

Once I've sorted some domestic issues out I will make contact with the DVLA again and see if I can get the latest data.

Intersting!

3 brown A2s, eh? They must be re-spays, or farmers vehicles!!

Cheers,

This one's Jaipur Red. I've seen another this colour on eBay last winter - sold very cheaply, and one of the cars I test-drove was this colour. This will almost certainly be shown as red on the DVLA's records.

It's an odd colour. It looks good in photos, but garish in the flesh. Judging by how long the one I drove sat around on the forecourt it's not a popular colour.

I've seen a few that look green or brown depending on lighting. Not sure what it's called. Again, they can look really good in photos, but awful in the flesh. I looked at 2 A2s this colour but couldn't bring myself to buy either. One of them was listed and "sold" about 4 times on eBay before it found a new owner! I bet people pulled out when they saw the colour...

Whatever it's called, it could explain the ones registered as brown.

Erm! I actually looked at one before I bought Eggbert, looked better than it sounded, very dark metalic bronze really.
I also seem to remember posting a photo of an 'orange' A2 that Skipton01 seemed to link with a certain ITV programme presenter!
