I had the passengers seat off for a while and the airbag light lit up. I bought a cheap Vag-com cable to turn it off, but the program warned me about this: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/vw_issues.html
My A2 is a late 2000 model, so I need to check the number of my airbag controller, but where can I find it?

It is in the central tunnel and you need to dismantle lots of bits to get at it.

Best thing to do is to scan the controller before attempting any recoding and if in doubt, consult a dealer.

Cheers,

Mike

Managed to peek the controllers part number by removing only the handbrake and the surrounding ( instructions: http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3416 ). Lucky me, it's not number 6Q0-909-605-A, so it should be safe to clear the fault code.

Go ahead and clear the fault, but as I don't know the exact specs of your interface, I can't guarantee full success.

Cheers,

Mike
