Aluminium Pack

Hello chaps and chapesses,
Can anyone tell me what is included in the 'Aluminium Pack' and what sort of sill trim strips come with it. I think my dealer is trying to pull a fast one!

Just so you can compare: ABT do an aluminium pack, consisting of: gear knob, ring for shift console and brake handle (cover) for £195 incl fitting. Plus you can get 15% of as an A2OC member. Their website is http://www.abtsportsline.co.uk

Does the Audi alu pack include rings for the dials?

Since every new A2 has alu coloured rings arround dials, it make no sense to me to pay for a real aluminium dial rings.

The alu rings on the dashboard, around the dials, cannot be ordered apart. The rings are part of the instruments, so if you really want them you have to change those as well. That will be an expencive job.
I emailed to a german firm (www.tachoringe.de), that makes the rings for other Audi's. Asked them if they make them for the A2 too. Last thing I heard from them (after sending them an email with photo's of the dashboard) was that they would visit an Audi-dealer to try something. I would hear from them, but since the last contact was on july 12, I suppose they don't, and won't sell them.
In an earlier post I aked other A2owners to mail them too, maybe if there are enough potential buyers, they are willing to produce the rings.........

UK A2's cannot be bought with alu rings around the dial - or atleast they were not available when I got my car.

The sport version has aluminium rings on the dash, plus alumunium button on the handbrake and aroun the gearshift and on the top part, shoul have had the full aluminium gearknob though!

Mine has the alu trim too as standard.

Stuart - I ordered the alu kit on my March 2001 car, which includes rings on the dials, an alu gear shift collar, trim parts on the passenger grab bar and the interior door pulls, and alu door opening levers.

I think it looks good, and I'm glad I ordered it.

Paul, I have all the same bits of aluminium dotted around, but whatever happened to the sill strips? The specs for SE's say they come with mats and sill strips, but I've not got anything other than the standard black plastic jobbies (and if these weren't there, I'd trip over all the wires every time the door was opened!).

Update:
Tachoringe emailed me, they haven't found the right car to try some of the rings they already produce. In an earlier mail they told me the A2-rings looked very similar to the A3 ones, apart from the fact the A2-rings/dials aren't flat. Don't know what to think about this, other then it's taking them a lot of time. But, let's hope they're still working on it, as I like the rings very much.

The aluminium trims where always available as an option on all A2's, but for about the last year have been standard across the whole range.
The trims included are the instrument dials, door and glovebox handles, gear lever gater ring and the handbrake button.
The sill trims are not part of the aluminium elements but are part of the mats set, and are plastic.

The aluminium ring around the gear stick gator and handbrake button appear to still be reserved for SE's. The TDI courtesy car I had yesterday was devoid of these two, but strangely, it had the same plastic sill strips my SE has, even though there were no mats.

Without these, the wiring would be on show, so this is why I believe my dealer is pulling a fast one. Were the aluminium strips ever an option as I seem to remember them being.

No idea about the sill strips. None on mine. I bought rubber mats, but have a set of carpet mats that came with the car still in their plastic bag.
