Hello

I have a 2002 A2 TDI with Climate Control. For a while now there has been a constant whirring (Servo like) noise from behind the Climate control unit, it sounds like it moves a damper to direct air to the different vents.

It's not been much of an issue during the summer, but it seems to affect the heating capacity of the heater, and sometimes blows cold air with a hot engine and high temp setpoint.

Anyone else had trouble with this servo? Is it possible for a mortal to replace?

Thanks

J Lo

Hi J Lo
There are are 3 sets of flaps controled by servo motors. A diagnostic scan will help pinpoint if any are faulty. It does not appear to be a common problem on A2's but the bad news is that they don't appear to be easily accessible

Thank you Spike,

My Climate Control has since developed a clicking, which I think is the damper randomly hitting against some end stop.. Further investigation required.. It looks very difficult to gain access though.
