Hi, I'm hoping to buy a 54 reg 1.6fsi SE and wondered if anyone can give me any actual figures for mpg and or miles between filling up as I can only find projected figures in articles and official Audi figures. I'm trading in my A3 1.8T and want to work out how much better of the A2 will be.

Thanks

Welcome to the club JC

Is that the well-specified Dolphin Grey 1.6FSI SE you are looking at?

Anyhow, your mpg will hugely depend on how you drive and where you drive. It is impossible to replicate the same figures with different driving different routes.

As a rule-of-thumb expect circa 40mpg from the FSI in everyday driving and 45mpg on a run (depending on if you do 70mph or more...)

Accordingly, a tank should be good for 320 miles between brimming it and the light coming on - don't forget the age of car you are looking at has a 9.2 gallon tank (less than the A3) and will probably cost £35-ish to fill on the basis on a 320 mile tank.

As from tomorrow I will have owned my 1.6 FSI for a week! I reset the trip computer on Sunday so have done two of our regular work trips (short distance, about 15 mins) so far it says an average of 38.6 mpg with an average speed of 21mph!
