how much does the 3 rear seat bench cost?
can you buy this from audi?

A rear bench seat can be bought from Audi, but it will be VERY expensive, as you cannot buy a complete seat, you;d have to buy the bases and the foam and the springs and the covers and so on.

Your best bet is to get one from a salvage yard although if you are trying to fit it into a car fitted with split rear seats, be warned, it is not possible to do, due to floor pan differences.

sounds like too much trouble...just there are quite a few occasions when i have family travelling with me which means 3 in the back

Yes, it's a situation that has been encountered before and unfortunately, the most cost effective solution is to exchange the car for another A2 with the seats fitted as standard.

Have you managed to fit 3 in the back without it, I know it is not legal but..

yea i have it hasnt been a problem apart from the seat belts tend to poke you in the back

A 4 seater A2 can not handle the 3 seater bench so the frame is different and no one hase done this conversion before. It will not work (with the German TÜV). So another A2 is the choice as Mike said.
