The word: Gear k nob can't be displayd in this forum. Is there another word for the shifting system. I am sorry, I am German and my english is moderate.
I found one vulgary meaning of the word. But is that the reason?

It appears as: gear ****
with stars **
The search function finds it but threads are displayed with stars.

Thanks.

This is covered by the FAQ:
http://www.a2oc.net/forum/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post#faq_vb_censor_explain

K n o b means the same as schwanz. It's quite a mild term - it's a bit overzealous to censor it as it also means a small round handle. Sometimes used as abuse - e.g. "he's a k n o b" or "k n o b head", meaning idiot.

It does seem odd, it's not like a family site, or a gaming site where children may view posts. It would be a bit strange if someone under the driving licence age decided to look on an A2 forum. lol

Yes, it's picked up the first one too! Great stuff. For those that are perplexed, it's a South Yorkshire town, between Goole and Immingham.

Mike

Not a million miles from Penistone.
