HI Guys
I have teh 17inch rs4 style alloys, and my favorite tryes are not being made anymore, Goodyear Eagle F1 these tyres in my opion are the best, since my local garage can't get them anymore I have tried some Avon zz3 but I just can't put my trust into them, they also wear very fast unlike the Goodyear Eagle F1 they seem to last very long time, when i got the car it had Michelins but they where very expensive and not as good as the Goodyear Eagle F1.
So i'm open to suggestions
Thanks Colin

Hi Colin,
Like you, I originally had F1s all round on my new TT wheels (215/40 R 17) and they were superb, although sidewall protection was non-existant!
Since they've worn out, I've tried ZZ3 and they're very good, but also very square in their profile. I've now moved on to Nexen N3000s and they're pretty good also, if not excellent when you factor price in - £50 a corner!
I've also had Toyo Proxes (R and S), Pilot Sports and Dunlop S9000 - best of the bunch are either the F1s or the Nexens.
Cheers,
Mike

Just fitted Falken FK-452's to my wife's 1.6 FSI Sport. It had Toyo's previously. I would have gone with the Toyos again, but the Falkens have great reviews and were cheaper.
So far so good. I'll reserve judgement when I drive it in the rain.

I, like Mike, have fitted Nexen N3000's, and for the money, find them fantastic.

I've just had 4 new Vredestein Sportrac2 (205/40/17) Fitted to our Fsi they are superb the ride quality has improved no end! I previously had nexen 3000 on the front and dunlop sports on the rear and the ride was V choppy. I would highly recommend these tyres they also have rim protectors. £68 a corner fitted.

Looking round for tyres last night, I found Michelin PZero Nero on Blackcircles for £70 each. Always heard good things about them, and that seemed a good price.
I have 215/40/17 Toyo T1S's on another car, and they have been very good too. Can be a bit soft though in terms of wear.

I'm using the Falken ZE512's on my 17" RS4 type wheels - but I went up a size to 215/45 to improve ride comfort, there is a tiny amount of rubbing on the front wheel arch when on full lock. They also have an excellent sidewall protector to help prevent kerbing. Get about 24000 miles per set of four before replacements are needed.
