I have just replaced my Dunlop SP9000 on 185/50/16 (SE rims) with 195/50/16 Toyo T1-R. Only had a few miles in them but first impression is good. Not particularly noisy, went through the rain this morning and surefooted in the wet just as good as the Dunlop if not better. Then a short drive in the afternoon and a couple of engaging roundabouts, the Toyo is worth its reputation. £87 a corner, fitted from blackcircles.co.uk, is good value. Only time will tell if it wears better than the T1-S. But the rubber is very soft, though not as soft as Eagle F1 GSD3, I don't expect them to out last my SP9000.

The extra height makes noticeable improvement in ride quality and I've had the FSDs! But just to prove fellow German member Schnelletrecker's suggestion, best comfort on the SE wheels is FSD + 195/50. Ride is very acceptable and handling is not noticeably affected either. Rim protection seems very decent by the looks of it, which is a bonus!

At 195/50, you can get the track tyre R888. Anyone? ;-)

This also means I have a single spare 185/50/16 Dunlop SP9000, which was a replacement for a rear passenger side puncture 3 months ago. So it is still has lots of tread. If anyone would like it, PM me or I'll probably drop it on ebay or keep it as spare.

Hi

does the 195/50 fit on the standard SE wheels?

Yes.

But in Germany, we need 195/45 R16 because the wheel-diameter does not be so different.

Hi

does the 195/50 fit on the standard SE wheels?

Yes, that's what I have. Plus side is comfortable ride but the downsize is larger wheel circumference, which means your speedo reading is now more accurate. The new tyre is +1.69%. I suppose I can push 32mph on the clock instead of 33 during the camera zones ;-)

i have new Kumho ecta's at the front which are 185/50/16
but the rear continentals need replacing...would it make a difference
if the fronts are 185 and the rear are 195 on SE wheels?

I should think as long as you have the same size on the same axel, it should be safe.
