Hello,
Does anyone know how to change a front drivers side spring which has broken? Do you need to remove the brake fluid resevoir?? My Father can change the spring but is unsure of the easiest way to do it?
thanks in advance.

Should be simple but you also need a new bearing at the top of the spring (on top of the suspension strut. don't know the englisch word for "Domlager").
The balls from the ballbearing will fall down when unscrew suspension strut.

Just had mine done 6 months ago £77 money well spent.Pig of a job.The reservoir can be moved without removing totally. Then all you need is a good gynae-chiatrist ;) doin this job takes the skill of both trades :) and when finished I can recommend a good councillor.Drivers side is the worst side by the way.Good luck

thanks for the advice, £77 sound good, was that from a local garage, I thought it would cost a lot more.

Got the same problem with my tdi the spring and bearing have both gone, local garage has quoted £150 for both side on the front......tried doing it myself but turned into a mission and ran out of time and patience!!

I changed the shockers on my( well brother in law did) car a couple of months ago but i stupidly didnt do the bearings so now have to do it all over again:(.
The drivers side is a right pain in the arse to do but as im having mine done for the price of the parts £41 thats the strut top mount and bearings and the labour will cost next to nowt if any thing.
